You have likely seen the statement that we have put out yesterday.
I would like to add a couple of words here regarding this.
I see that you are passionate about your Polestar 2 and that is awesome, because we have put so much heart and energy into creating and building this car.
I see as well that for some of you the relationship with your car and with our brand is in a difficult phase. What is the love for the design of a car, its drive and feel and practicability worth, if you can’t rely on it driving?
So, we need to fix it.
We wanted to fix it quickly, but this is not only software, it includes 2 hardware issues – faulty components from our suppliers.
The action ahead of us – exchanging the heater and both inverters on thousands of Polestar 2s in Europe – is a massive task to take on.
We want to make this as smooth and as quick as possible for you.
The upgrades have to give peace of mind to all of you as well as solve the challenges faced by you who have experienced issues.
This will be vital to enhance the relationship between you and your car and between you and the Polestar brand.
It has to turn the tide, so that you can fully trust the reliability of the product and the brand.
I am relieved that finally this is out.
It is not easy, actually it is painful, often not being able to address your questions in a more direct and timely manner.
But I had to learn, and I hope you can understand, that we as Polestar and me as the CEO cannot talk until there is certainty and complete understanding of the issues.
I know many of you really love your car and I am happy to see how we can now make sure that applies to all of you again. Thank you for sticking with us.
